The Savannah Interviews:
Kevin Kirkwood currently lives and works in Savannah, where he engages closely with the local arts community to explore the region’s creative landscape. Through on-location conversations with artists in their creative spaces, he examines the conditions, routines, and choices that shape their work.

Most episodes seek to understand when and why people make what they make. Conversations focus on process, material, and sustained creative labor, tracing how ideas begin, evolve, and persist over time, while reflecting the particular influences of Savannah’s culture, environment, and history. The Strand exists in the space between studio practice and lived experience, allowing meaning to emerge through place, movement, and dialogue.

With each episode, The Strand becomes a living archive of contemporary creative practice; how ideas evolve, how artists push forward, and how art continues to shape our cultural landscape.
